Welcome to the American Association of Transfusion Nurse Specialists
and Transfusion safety Officer's Website. We are a progressive, rapidly growing chapter located in Seattle, Washington.
We share a variety of experience and backgrounds.
We seek to provide and inspire leadership in the realm of transfusion
medicine.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our webpage.
Currently, there are six Transfusion Nurse Specialists
and Transfusion Safety Officers in the Seattle area, approximately twelve nationally.
An organization web site is a great way to publicize a charter,
keep members informed, and attract a broader audience. We'll use this site to get the word out on our organization and create
a better sense of community among our members. We'll also include pictures of our work and members.
Our Mission
The role of the Transfusion Nurse Specialist and Transfusion
Safety Officer is a growing one. We are a professional organization of nurses with a shared connection by our
interest in transfusion medicine.
Our Goals:
- To promote increased knowledge and expertise to TNS and TSOs
- To be more aware of educational opportunities, local and national
- To gather and share information with our colleagues.
- To allow the TNS and TSOs an opportunity to develop their professional
and leadership skills.
Education is fundamental to professional growth, excellence
in practice and optimal patient outcomes. Research is needed to develop a scientific basis for TNS and TSOs as well
as to achieve a broad understanding of the role and its impact on patient outcomes.
Collaboration with professional colleagues, consumer, policy
makers, vendors of goods and services utilized by professionals, and other interested parties, is central to optimal patients
outcomes and achieving our mission.
